Which of the Ofqual accredited Cambridge IGCSEs in English will count towards "5 A* - C grades including Maths and English"?

The Qualifications and Curriculum Development Agency (QCDA) have confirmed that in 2015 and 2016 Cambridge IGCSE English as a First Language (0522) would count towards the headline measure of 5 A*- C grades including Maths and English, as long as the students also enter for an Ofqual accredited GCSE / IGCSE English Literature qualification. The students must achieve an A*-C grade in English as a First Language but can achieve any grade in English Literature. Both qualifications must be taken by the end of key stage 4.

Cambridge IGCSE English as a Second Language (0511) would not count as a qualification in English for the purposes of the headline measure 5 A*-C grades including Maths and English.

All three syllabuses (0522, 0476, 0511) would count towards the separate headline measure of 5 A*-C grades. Please note that for examination in 2015 onwards, the accredited Cambridge IGCSE English Literature will have syllabus code 0486.
