Will I be marked down for poor Spelling, Grammar & Punctuation in my IGCSE First Language English exam?

Please refer to the syllabus, mark schemes and the Principal Examiner reports (accessible to registered centres only), which will contain more detail, but please find below a summary:

0522/01 (0500/11, 12, 13) Reading Passage (Core): Spelling is not assessed on this question paper.

0522/02 (0500/21, 22, 23) Reading Passages (Extended): Spelling is not assessed on this question paper.

0522/03 (0500/31, 32, 33) Directed Writing and Composition: Q1 is marked out of 15 for Writing (and 10 for Reading) and within these 15 marks spelling, punctuation and grammar is an element of the assessment. Q2 is assessed for Style and Accuracy with 12 marks available (as well as Content and Structure (13 marks)) and spelling, punctuation and grammar is an element of the assessment.

0522/04 (0500/04, 0524/04) Coursework (written): one strand of the Writing banded marking criteria for each of the three assignments assesses spelling, punctuation and grammar.
